(Left) At the same time, Sylvienne's brother headed over to the plastic surgery department in the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. To prepare for Sylvienne's reconstruction of lips and nasal bone, Dr. Chen measured the facial features of Sylvienne's brother.
(Right) Sylvienne even said that she didn't want her brother's nose because it was too big for her. She wanted the doctor to give her a smaller nose during surgery.
6/30(Thur.) - Play day
(Left) Today TRMPC volunteer Elaine Chin came to visit as usual and brought desserts and puzzles with her. The two girls have never played with this type of toys, so they were really curious. Sylvienne quickly finished the puzzle!
(Right) When there were no appointments, everyone stayed in the hotel. They either took naps, watched television, or cooked. Although it may seem like our usual daily routine, it was a rare experience of comfort and convenience for Chad's people who have long been mired in poverty.
7/1(Fri.) - Patricia returned to the hospital for rehabilitation.
(Left) The physical Therapist asked Patricia to practice holding a pen and try drawing on paper.
(Right) Patricia tried to lift up building blocks using her hands.
The process was still painful, so tears dropped from Patricia's eyes. However, with the support and encouragement from the volunteers, Patricia was so brave that she completed the task.
7/5(Tue.) - Return to the hospital
Sylvienne returned to Taoyuan the Craniofacial Orthodontics department in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Dr. Liao) for another check-up, and the reconstruction surgery was scheduled to be performed by Dr. Chen, the director of the plastic surgery department in Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, on 7/20.
Patricia returned to the plastic surgery department in Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for a check-up on her progress of recovery. Dr. Hu commented that the third finger on Patricia's right hand was not well recovered (modified with mosaics), and they will assess whether another surgery is necessary.
TRMPC will continue to update the progress of the girls' treatment.
Join us to cheer them up!
