各位就讀醫療專業科系學生們有福了! 路竹會旅美資深義工, Dr. Chee Ng夫妻及Allan Lee夫妻, 由2011年起成立NewGround Foundation Scholarship, 將以資助的方式鼓勵學生們積極參加路竹會海外義診活動.

獎學金將開放給各醫療專業的學生(包括醫學、牙醫、護理、藥劑、衛教等). 有意申請者, 請下載附件說明及申請書, 自行向NewGround Foundation Scholarship申辦, 並請同時CC給路竹會haiping@taiwanroot.org存檔.

Objectives for the Scholarship

As the saying goes, Health is wealth. Medical professionals are our health’s last defense. By providing the scholarship to the healthcare-related students for the oversea volunteer opportunity, Chee, Allan and their families hope that young students can have the opportunity to develop compassionate bonds with people and their communities before becoming medical professionals. In their future practices, such experiences will hopefully shed some light and give them a broader perspective of life.

捐助者簡歷: 

Chee M. Ng, Pharm.D. Ph.D., FCP

Chee was born in Langkap, a rural village in Malaysia and left home at the age of 17 to study in Canada. He later moved to the U.S. for university and has since resided in the U. S. He entered the university with the aim of becoming an engineer, but instead graduated with a Pharmacy degree and received his Doctor of Pharmacy with high honor in 1995 and Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship training in 2003. Chee is currently working as a faculty at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. 

Chee and his wife, Hillary who was born in Taiwan, believe in living life with compassion and an open mind. Every year, they find opportunities to explore the world through backpacking and volunteer missions. Such experiences give them a sense of humanity and puts things into perspective in their busy lives.

Allan Lee,

Allan was born and raised in Taiwan. After graduating from maritime junior college in Taiwan, he went to U.S. to study computer science. He met his wife June in college who is also from Taiwan. They have two beautiful daughters.  Allan is currently working as a senior Analyst at a software company.

While Allan and June both work at software companies, they try to enjoy what nature has to offer. They love hiking and skiing while their daughters especially enjoy biking, camping and rock climbing. They strongly believe that one should never forget his/her roots and culture.
